Jumpin' into Summer!!
Hey PARISH friends! I hope everyone is doing well! Looks like it's almost summer around here and I have to say I am loving these 90 degree days! Remind me that I said that when August rolls around, ok?
I go back and forth on my favorite time of the year! Spring is lovely, fresh, and new, but also fleeting. Fall is crisp and cool and who doesn't love that first trip to the farmer's market for those gorgeous Cinderella pumpkins! But summer, y'all... it's pretty amazing, too.
Trips to the beach and the lake, long lazy days by the pool with a fruity cocktail in my hand, evening happy hours with my friends that my husband would say lasted way longer than an hour :)....these are the things that make summer just down right delicious!

This pretty painting by Elizabeth Hawke reminds me of sunsets at the beach! I am also loving those fun little cocktail napkins![/caption]
We have a few fun summer items at PARISH right now! Cute cocktail napkins paired with a bottle of wine make a great gift for a friend. We have a lot with fun little sayings! We also have a great new cocktail recipe book called, "Porch Parties". I think it was written for me!

I am not going to lie...these napkins went home with me :) They are just too cute! Perfect pink touch for a girl's night on the patio![/caption]
In the spirit of summer I figured why not include a recipe from "Porch Parties" in today's post! As I flipped through the pages the champs lover in me got a little excited about the Prosecco Mojito. If there is even the slightest chance there is something worth celebrating, champagne is my go-to! If I am on the beach somewhere, rum is my go-to. My two favorites decide to get married and live happily ever after in this recipe!
5 Mint leaves 2 ounces light rum
1 Teaspoon brown sugar 2 ounces prosecco or champagne
1/2 ounce simple syrup Garnish: Mint sprig
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
In a pilsner or highball glass, muddle the mint leaves with the brown sugar, simple syrup, and lime juice. Add ice cubes. Pour in the rum and top with the Prosecco. Stir and garnish with a mint sprig. Make the kids go hang with dad, kick your feet up and enjoy...because it is sure to be delicious!
We hope everyone has an incredible start to the summer break! Ashley and Jess are headed off to Europe next week and Meagan and I will be holding down the fort! Come in and see us!
Until next time!
