a (ridiculously fabulous) before and after. part one.

Hi friends!! It's no secret that we love a good transformation! Whether it's a makeover from head to toe or a killer renovation, we just can't get enough. I still get butterflies when Julia Roberts turns her chair at the bar to see Richard Gere in Pretty Woman! Confession: I STILL want a red dress with a plunging neckline and white gloves! [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="529"] Vivian and Edward forever![/caption] Lucky for us, we get to experience "the makeover effect" often... and nothing makes us happier than a fabulous before and after! A few months ago, Ashley and I met a REALLY fun family of 4 that had purchased a REALLY big project! They sold their home (along with all of their furniture in it) and were about to embark on a renovation house. Have you ever met a couple that you just absolutely knew were meant to be together? THIS is that couple! They are funny, stylish, and have such a sweet chemistry with each other... completely a dream to work with! Ashley and I contemplated for a second that we would just move in with them... they're THAT fun!! Without further adieu... this is what we started with: LIVING ROOM: BEFORE [caption id="attachment_13608" align="aligncenter" width="480"]image (24) BEFORE: Dark. Finishes. Everywhere. Everything felt visually heavy in this space... and the awkward windows were, well, awkward.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13612" align="aligncenter" width="480"]image (28) BEFORE: Cabinetry can be very heavy looking as well, and as symmetry lovers- it drove us bananas that one side had open shelves and the other was dense cabinetry. Not for long... :)[/caption] LIVING ROOM: AFTER [caption id="attachment_13616" align="aligncenter" width="640"]photo 1 Goodbye awkward windows and hello light!! We loved bringing in so much light to this formerly dark room![/caption] [caption id="attachment_13619" align="aligncenter" width="360"]photo 5 Love this Italian sofa from LEE Industries! By using a traditional frame and a casual fabric, the space feels grown up and still a little fun![/caption] [caption id="attachment_13617" align="aligncenter" width="640"]photo 3 We chose to redo the fireplace in a pretty updated slate and left the original hearth. This stunning wingback chair from CRLaine provided a comfy seat and an anchor for this seating area![/caption] [caption id="attachment_13618" align="aligncenter" width="638"]photo 4 We used the clients' old dining table in the window nook and two comfy club chairs provided ample seating for this fun family![/caption] FOYER: BEFORE [caption id="attachment_13620" align="aligncenter" width="480"]image (83) This foyer had dark slate tile, random navy paint, and NO character... and quickly became one of our favorite spaces in the house![/caption] FOYER: AFTER [caption id="attachment_13626" align="aligncenter" width="450"]IMG_2066 Floor to ceiling sheer drapery sets an elegant tone in this new space! We used antique chairs and a fun painted table to create a cozy and inviting seating area.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13625" align="aligncenter" width="445"]IMG_2063 To the right of the front door, we designed a custom banquette. How dreamy is this velvet?!! The custom silk lumbar doesn't hurt either... :) We love to see our drawings come to life like this did![/caption] [caption id="attachment_13628" align="aligncenter" width="487"]IMG_2068 Details make me so happy! Ashley and I have an addiction to little bottles... these blue bottles were our first purchase in Europe! Aren't they fun? :)[/caption] Hope you enjoyed our fun little teaser! Check back next week for part 2 of this fabulous whole house install! Have a great weekend everyone! jess-signature

I luv all of it. The floor to ceiling drapes in the foyer is such a dramatic touch. What a transformation, the whole project. So much talent.
