THE INTERN DIARIES: WEEK 6
This week Intern Rachael comes to you with some exciting news. Well, we hope it's exciting news, I guess its for you guys to decide. The lovely ladies at PARISH have spent the last year working on a website. A place where you all can shop and order some of our beautiful merchandise. We thought it would be a good way for you out of towners to get your hands on some PARISH items without a long trek to Montgomery, Alabama. We wanted to introduce the online shoppe to you all before making the page official and to get some feed back on whether our followers would be more inclined to shop online if it were available. Please feel free to comment with any critique, questions, or concerns.

And for those of you who are Montgomery locals, now would be a great time to stop in PARISH and shop! We spent all afternoon on Wednesday doing an overhaul of the storefront, bringing in new merchandise and sprucing up the old. Unfortunately throughout the process, I believe everyone involved received a small injury of some sort. Even our sweet movers came to help and drew some blood. Between cuts, bruises, and sore muscles, staging a showroom is messy business!

We also had the pleasure this week of meeting several clients at their homes for some design consultations. These type of meetings are always exciting because you get to see the client in their own element. This is something that I definitely did not get to experience with school projects or working in retail showrooms. Not only do you get to see their beautiful living spaces, but you get to meet their family, their pets, and learn things about them you never would have guessed! One home we visited this week was a beautifully done southwestern style home. The client had so many interesting furniture pieces, artwork, rugs, and accessories, it seemed like she spent years traveling and accumulating these pieces to pull together her home. I could tell each piece had its own story.

Another interesting thing I've found is we often have to consider the pets themselves as clients, because much of our design depends on them and their needs. One client mentioned that her marriage has progressed from having dogs, to having children, and now back to the dog stage. Pets are very much apart of the family and we want them to be just as comfortable as the people!
Ok I'll hush now and announce what you've all been waiting one....the GIVEAWAY WINNER!
