Historic Renovation

Those who know me well, know I am a total sucker for a renovation project.  After being married for only one year, Barrett and I jumped into the world of renovating.  When moving to Montgomery, I instantly fell in love with historic homes, especially those in Old Cloverdale.  In less than 3 years, Barrett and I renovated 6 houses, 5 in Old Cloverdale.  We renovated one for ourselves and the others sold.  It is a secret (maybe not so secret) addiction of mine.  Something about these old beat up houses just screams "save me" and as Barrett says, "I am a bleeding heart".  I can't help but fall in love with each one of them.  Barrett handles the money part and I do the design and the fixing (with the help of lots of subs).  So00000000.... we have another one in the works.  I have done a ridiculous amount of due diligence to be sure it will be profitable in this lovely economy.  I can't let you know what house it is yet because all the paperwork isn't quite finished, but I can give you a few hints (and some inspiration pics of what it should look like when it is all said and done).  I am hoping to have it on the market by May, fingers crossed. Hints: In the heart of Old Cloverdale, a little over 3,000 square feet, two story, corner lot... I'm stopping here before I totally give it away. What to look for: A 3 maybe 4 bedroom 3.5 bath totally renovated house with fabulous entertaining spaces outside thanks to Peter Faulkner of Faulkner Gardens, great front porch with a wonderful pine shake roof, a separate screened in porch, amazing entertaining floor plan (plans to come later, I don't want to give it away!!), awesome interior finishes...I seriously want to move in when it's finished. As soon as I'm allowed, I will show some pictures of the house.  I am hoping to give updates on the blog as work progresses...might even get y'all to help us select finishes.  Should be fun!!
