Posted on October 19, 2011 by 1 | 3 CommentsLet's face it. Life happens and when it does, we need some encouragement. Some weeks are certainly better than others... The other day I came home from a wonderful and beautiful wedding of one of my pledge sisters (congrats, Melanie and Cory!) at sunset at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. There's just something eternally beautiful about a sunset and its reminder that God designed the earth with each and every detail. Well, after a fabulous weekend filled with friends and fun, of course all of my electronics decide to stop working. I realize this is not a big deal at ALL in the grand scheme of things, but when one goes, they all go. First to go was my Blackberry that I'd had for 2 and a half years. We'd become close confidants. I hate to break it to you, but if you're a smart phone addict and something happens to yours, it feels as though the world around you just stops and you somehow fall off the face of the earth. I realize this may sound quite dramatic, but if you've lost your phone and you're addicted to it, you totally understand! Strike one. Strike two: my jalopy mobile ate my Ipod tape adapter. Yea yea, I realize that most cars don't have tape players nor CD players (or that is the next wave) anymore, but when you suddenly can't listen to your Ipod in the car, your heart hurts a bit. Strike three: my personal laptop USB ports no longer seem to work. What in the world? As my wise mother once told me, bad things tend to happen in threes, so hopefully my electronics scares are over, but in the meantime I've found some words of encouragement for all of us. Everyone is going through something right now whether it's the loss of a loved one, a personal health issue, the health of a loved one, financial troubles, unemployment, or just plain ole discouragement in general. Hopefully these little gems will help you (and me!) to refocus on the good in life and the importance of God and your faith to get you through during life's difficulties. My personal favorite: and last but certainly not least, All images courtesy of my favorite time waster, Pinterest. Hold that head up, my friends! Whether all is well right now or you're face to face with a giant, remember that this too shall pass!
