Before & After

In response to a number of requests, here are some before and after shots of a recent project. Before, the space lacked structure and needed some serious interest! Our goal was to give it a more defined style and arrange it in a much more functional manner. See what you think. We began the design with a great inspiration fabric we used on the sofa pillows. By replacing the one sofa with a pair of sofas, we doubled the seating and created a comfortable conversation area. Grey linen drapery gave the space MUCH needed height. We slipcovered the two dining room arm chairs in a charcoal linen (also used on the backs on the sofa pillows) and used them as part of the family room seating. They can still be pulled up when needed at the dining room table, and this helped save a little money by reusing chairs that were not being used otherwise. The gray and white hide rug on top of the seagrass gives a modern look and adds casual interest without a lot of pattern. And my favorite is the custom blue vinyl storage ottoman... Super child friendly, great place to stash the stuff you don't want everyone to see, perfect for propping up your feet, and an extra seat when needed. I especially love the blue on the ottoman. It's a little unexpected and super fun. We also used it on the rest of the dining room chair bottoms. Notice the great transformation on the painted armoire in the foyer. It was given a new life with a little paint and a new location. It once served as a red tv cabinet, now it introduces you to the newly designed space as you walk in the front door.

These are some befores...

And here are the shots after we got our hands on the space...

Livable, colorful, child friendly, versatile and fun. More coming soon!
