Originally introduced to homes in the late 19th century, claw foot bathtubs have held on to their place at the forefront of the line in luxurious bathroom fixtures.
Claw foot tubs have been modified for modern use and many double as showers, proving that functionality is not just limited to those who prefer a long soak as opposed to a quick rinse.  They also lean back a little which is awesome for a nice relaxing end to a long day.
Whether you are refinishing an older fixture (designer hint: cheaper!) found amongst other treasures in an antique or flea market or you are purchasing a new one, the claw foot tub will dress up any bathroom in the modern era.
Below are some tubs we found most adorable and practical in present-day interiors.

The claw foot tub in the Country Living photo looks exactly like the tub at my grandparent’s farmhouse in Rocky Head, Alabama. Many pounds of sand and dirt were washed from little boys in that wonderful container. Thanks for bringing back some warm memories.
